Solving the Five Wicked Problems at the Prime Health Summit
Yesterday, members of the CirrusMD team had the privilege of joining hundreds of healthcare innovators to participate in the Prime Health Innovation Summit—an opportunity to “harness [the room’s] great power and focus it on the state’s most pressing challenges” according to Prime Health CEO Steve Adams.
The Summit brought together leaders from throughout the state (ranging from entrepreneurs starting digital health companies to executives at large health systems and health plans) to help determine what will be necessary to advance Colorado’s objectives in five key categories:
Behavioral Health and Substance Use Disorder and Integration;
Chronic Disease Management;
Social Determinants of Health;
Transitions from Fee-for-Service to Value-Based Care; and
Information and Sharing.
It makes sense, after all. The more diverse opinions in the room, the more likely we are to find a solution that is intersectional and therefore able to address the needs of all people impacted by these issues.
While telemedicine isn’t the silver bullet to solve all of Colorado’s healthcare problems, it was fascinating to see all the ways a solution like ours can help break down the barriers to access that are getting in the way for so many in the Centennial State.
