Who We’re Looking For:

An experienced DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer who thrives in a highly collaborative environment and can confidently contribute to our mission of redefining the healthcare experience for patients and providers. We are moving from a primarily PaaS infrastructure to an infrastructure that can meet our growing needs while maintaining the compliance and security requirements of the healthcare industry. We seek a motivated self-starter that has experience scaling and automating complex systems on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and PaaS infrastructure using a combination of tools and languages.

What You’ll Be Responsible For Achieving:

  • Build and maintain an automated, immutable infrastructure that can meet the needs of our product, engineering, and data teams

  • Automate security controls including building a security information and event management (SIEM) system

  • Contribute to documentation including testing standards and best practices

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to ensure a balance of infrastructure complexity in the achievement of performance, quality, and reliability as the team develops new functionality

  • Manage and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation

What Will Make You Successful:

  • Automation mindset — if you can automate it, do it. We practice continuous integration and are working towards continuous deployment.

  • 3+ years hands-on experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, 

  • Experience with container technologies and orchestration systems such as Nomad and Kubernetes

  • Confidence with AWS using Terraform, Ansible, Consul, Vault, Docker, and various scripting languages, preferably Python and Bash

  • Knowledge of AWS services including IAM, EC2 instances, EC2 autoscaling groups, load balancers, ECR, RDS, ElastiCache, Elasticsearch service, S3, CloudWatch, SNS, SQS, and Route53

  • Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and metrics systems including ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana

  • A solid understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) systems

  • Your philosophy aligns with Agile methodologies and processes

What Will Make You Stand Out:

  • Significant experience with AWS identity and access management (IAM) in a multi-account environment

  • Significant experience with AWS networking concepts and services including VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, NAT gateways, internet gateways, transit gateways, and site-to-site VPNs

  • Expert level coding abilities in Python, Ruby, Go, or similar languages

  • Experience implementing SIEM tools in cloud environments

  • Experience with CDNs and WAFs

  • Passionate to resolve reliability issues and identify strategies to mitigate going forward

  • Experience working in environments with higher security and regulatory compliance requirements such as HIPAA, HITRUST, PCI, or FedRamp
